Cherry & Chilli Chocolates

I did a bit of confectioneering (good word that I just invented) on Friday evening.
I made these mouthwatering delights. Got two bowls like pictured, came out real nice, good chilli kick to them.

200g (7oz) dark chocolate, broken into chunks
125g (4½oz) butter diced
150g (5½oz) glacè cherries
6 digestive biscuits
Chilli to taste - I used 1 of my homegrown Dorset Naga's deseeded and very finely chopped

Place the chocolate and butter in a bowl and carefully melt together in the microwave or over a pan of gently simmering water.
rinse the cherries in a sieve (this takes away the stickiness) and pat dry, then place on a chopping board.
Chop the cherries into small pieces and add to the bowl of chocolate and butter.
Very carefully and wearing gloves if you must deseed and chop the Naga as finely as possible and add to the mix.
Place the biscuits in a sandwich bag and bash with a rolling pin until you have crumbs. add to teh bowl and then mix everything together.
Line a small square cake tin or the like with clingfilm and tip in the mixture.
level it out, I used a tray about 20cm x 16cm and it ended up about 1cm deep.
Place in the fridge for a couple of hours to set before turning out onto a chopping board and cutting into squares.

Corby, Hot Off Of The Trouser Press

Went to Adrenaline Alley today with various assorted Surrey/Sussex/Kent/Lundun skaters/tweakers.

Had a good time but decided that the north is a very cold place.

Some BMXicans and a blader were ripping up the vert ramp. Big stuff on a big fook off ramp.

Props to TJ for dropping it and Des for the attempt. Footage to follow.

It's magic part3, the plans and more

Well just in case anyone out there has been tempted here's the plans. I've kept them full size so you can download them I think by right clicking and save as blah blah...

By the way I don't think the Alpine Sports offer is still valid.

Wonder what happened to 14 year old Nigel Sapsed?

CSTC Newsletters '77

I found some old newsletters from The Crowthorne Schoolboy Trials Club (see post about SS50 a couple of days ago)

Some interesting snippets in them.

Zuma Jay

Surfshop in Bude, must have been taken about 1988 I reckon, it's still there (dunno if they still got that van though)
Zuma Jay

I remember I bought some stickers in there. One said "Stop beach pollution - Stick your finger up a dogs bum" had it stuck on the back window of my Fiat Panda much to my mums disgust.

Trials SS50

Lights and pedals removed.
Renthal handle bars fitted.
Rear mudguard cut down.
Steering lock tabs removed from fork yoke and tank dented for increased steering lock. Custom foot rest/rear brake pedal assembly built up and fitted through swinging arm pivot.
Carburettor slide cut down and inlet filed out.
I entered a few trials on this in the Crowthorne Schoolboy Trials Club homemade special class.
Was later fitted with a high level front mud guard and knobbly tyres from something else, maybe a Garelli Tiger Cross (?)
Photo taken in the Owlsmoor/Broadmoor area earlyish 76.

Solo Dad '63

A rare photo of dad on a solo trials bike.

I was cajoled into riding the Greeves in the team trial by a Jack Taylor who could not ride that day because he was the ACU steward , his bike.

I think this must be the same trial as the previous picture but I'm not sure.

Me & Dad

I gotta load of slides off of my Dad to scan on my new slide scanner.
I'm pretty sure this was taken at Long Valley in the Aldershot area, that's me in the sidecar. I can't remember why my Dad is actually riding as he'd retired from competition a few years before this and he's riding my uncle Dens outfit.
Pretty sure it's an Ariel though.

I meant to check with him, I'll have to do that sometime...

EDIT: It's a BSA Goldstar not an Ariel.
