Get Plastered In Brighton

Went down to Brighton today again.

Chilly breeze but warm out of the wind in the sun.

Parked in Preston and walked in, bit of shopping, popped into the Mesmerist for a pint of Dark Star Old Chestnut and a rest then walked back to Preston to the Duke Of Yorks Cinema.

The usual comfy sofa on the balcony and a bottle of Dark Star Sunburst, thank Alva for the 10% saving I get with my cinema membership.

Saw this Trabant tucked away so had to take a picture for the Gaffer.

Indy Makeover

The boss had the day off today so it was homer day.

I took in some Indy's that had been bugging me for ages.
The one's on here

I've forgotten what Stage they were, Graham did tell me once. Anyway they'd been painted to look like anodised one's.
They looked like this...

Young Gavin had a bit of time on his hands so I masked them up for him and he went to town with the sandblaster.

They now look like this...

I thought at first that I'd wet and dry them down and polish to a shine but the more I look at them the more I like them as they are.

Spam Spam Spam Spam

I've been entering a lot of contests recently.
See here.

This turned up at work today much to the amusement of the chaps in Goods Inwards.

It contained this lot.

Helium filled balloon, T-Shirt, Apron, Cap, 2 pens, 3 tins of Spam, Slotted Spatula, Ice Scraper, Car Air Freshener (not Spam scent), Spam Cookbook, Rubber Spam Stress Toy, Fridge Magnet, Messenger Bag.

Awesome.

First Skate Of 2012

Haven't been feeling it recently (oo-er missus)

Anyway I was out with the current Mrs Mullet today doing a bit of shopping when I got a text from Trev about a session over at Ash Ranges, why not she says so I got a skate pass.

I managed to get a few shots of Trev slaloming but failed miserably at getting him cornering on the longboard. Should have taken my fisheye with me.

I did manage to take this with my Christmas present Flip camera.

Silverstone Swag

I entered a competition to win VIP tickets to the British F1 GP.

I didn't win but got a runners up goody bag (well box actually).

Mug, steering wheel shaped keyring, pen, sticker, patch, racing car shaped data stick, lanyard, ticket holder and a voucher for two weekend tickets for either British Superbikes in September or British Touring Cars in October.

What Is The World Coming To?

When 3 in 1 comes in a plastic 'tin'.

Everybody at work who saw this agreed it's just wrong.

Hogs

Got myself a pair of Pacer Hogs off of evilbay.

Been after some of these for ages, my size too, sweet. Look to be unworn.
The rubber has a bit of 'bloom' on it, tried some 'Back To Black' type stuff, looked to work okay until it dried.

Advert and artwork by my old mate Doug Cameron.

Wonder if I can track down a pair of red, green and black ones to make up the set?

An A-Z of my iPod: Part26 - Z

Made it to Z.

Well I could have chosen ZZ Top but have decided to go with...

... The Zombies.

And their 1968 album Odessey and Oracle.

In a previous job I once had to visit a Mr C Blunstone. I wonder if it's the singer from The Zombies Colin Blunstone I thought to myself. It was. Nice chap, still see him around the local area.

An A-Z of my iPod: Part25 - Y

Nearly there.

Y

Not a lot of Y on my iPod.

Yazoo and Youth Group.

Here's the latters 2006 album Casino Twilight Dogs.

This cover of an Alphaville song comes from it...

An A-Z of my iPod: Part24 - X

So X.

X-Ray Spex or XTC?

Has to be XTC really, Swindon's finest (unless you count Melinda Messenger).
A favourite band of mine from way back in my school days.

I think the first thing I bought of theirs was Go+ which strangely wasn't available for sale on it's own but  came with the first 15,000 copies of Go2, how I managed to buy one I'll never know.
Anyway it was a 12" of dub tracks from the Go2 album.

In 1990 they released the tracks from that and some others on...

An A-Z of my iPod: Part23 - W

W.

Well it could have been...
War, The Waves, Waaves, Wayne County, Wild Billy Childish, The Williams Fairey Brass Band or Wreckless Eric but instead I chose The Wipeouters.

And their 2001 album P' Twaaang!!!

The Wipeouters are really Devo (well 3/5 of Devo and Josh Mancell), the story goes that back in 1966 Mark Mothersbaugh, Bob Mothersbaugh, and Robert Casale  were in a band called The Wipeouters, in 2001 the reformed to record this.
Interesting stuff and Devo wackiness abounds.

An A-Z of my iPod: Part22 - V

V.

The Vapors, Vanity 6, The Vibrators, Virgin Prunes and Vibrasonic.

Here's their eponymously titled first album, Vibrasonic.

Hailing from East Sussex, England, the rock duo Vibrasonic consists of members Victor K. Fitch (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion) and Simon Paul Jones (guitar, sitar, bass, drums). Their sound incorporates elements of '60s-era pop, psychedelia, garage, and surf into one tasty musical cocktail. The duo first issued several singles in the early '90s ("Don't Leave Me Tired," "Kingsley J," and "If I Were a Rich Man"), before unleashing their self-titled full-length debut in 1995. Shortly afterward, another single was released, "Into Sunshine," as well as a second album, Instrumental Vibrations.~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
