Balls

Wheel buying obsession still in full effect.

Sneaked these out of Crowthorne from right under Gra's nose. It's not like I even need them ;-)

Alva Blue Ball 60mm 99a Duro. Good enough for Alva, good enough for me.

At least they weren't shrink wrapped, means I'll be able to use these ones.

Shiny Purple Helmet

Another eBay purchase, arrived at work today in the post.
It was advertised  as a Death-Box helmet, not sure if it is or not, don't recall them selling their own brand of helmets but I could be mistaken, memory and old age etc.

Anyway it's not in too bad nick, the stickers will have to go unfortunately the R.A.D one is all wrinkled and the SS20 isn't much better. Same old story flat stickers and round helmets.
The photos don't really do it justice, there's a bit of flash glare that makes it look worse although there are a few white marks which at first glance looked like scratches but look like paint marks that will polish off. The foam inside isn't disintegrating but smells a bit stale and has yellowed.

I thought it looked too small but it's a nice snug fit.

Cheers Trev

Met up with the boys, Trev, Gra, Rob, Paul & Ian for a skate this evening over at Ash Ranges.
Arrived a bit later than them and had raindrops on the windscreen all the way there.
By the time I was halfway between the carpark and the slalom hill it started raining a bit heavier.

Luckily the army had erected some tents for us to shelter in. Then we had hailstones, then more rain, then it stopped and started to dry out.

I decided it would be a good idea to take some photos from the middle of the slalom run, it wasn't, Trev ran into me/I got in his way.
I took a hit to the jaw he got some road rash from a slipped elbow pad.
The pictures should be interesting when I get the film developed. I was shooting with the Minolta X-700 and motordrive.

Anyway, after more rain and a rainbow we arrived back at the carpark where Trev gave me this...

Cheers mate.

Maybe one day I'll explain where this came from.

Tech detail: 2 13/16" hanger, 6" axle. Fixed inverted kingpin, Bennett/ACSesque hanger.

The Lazy Skaters

I came across this rad little film today on YouTube.
Shot by Steve Olson and featuring amongst other Gordy Lienemann who used to be on the Pepsi team with Lonnie Toft and also ripped on an 8 wheeler.

I hope to be able to recreate this movie soon if only I can find another 2 Motoboards...
