New Kingpins, Old Trucks
Project Old Board took a few steps closer to being completed this afternoon.
Replaced the old kingpins with some new ones from my trusty bolt man Don at Apex Fasteners.
Went for some slightly longer ones as the thread in the baseplate is a bit worn, got 2.5" ones, a bit too long as they now bottom out on the deck, either gotta get them shortened or fit risers.
Turns out I had two different lengths in there, the one on the back being shorter.
I don't think the fact that the new ones are fully threaded will matter.
Also fitted the new bushings and replaced the bearings with new ones for now, I think the old Nachi ones will clean up okay.
New deck to come I think if I can find something suitable(ly cheap)

So here's another run taken with the camera mounted next to the rear truck and pointing towards the nose.

Under The Board(walk)
Got hold of a little HD video camera that I tried under the board at Bowlworth yesterday.
This was the first run, mounted at the front pointing towards the tail, took it easy to make sure it stayed on.

Bowlworth
My first trip to Ricardo's bowl at Bowlworth today, can't believe I only live 20 minutes away and have never been, will go back for sure.
Met Trev, Dan & Paul there, then Ricardo, John and Frank arrived.
Good session, nice quiet park. Surface is a bit rough in places and the pool coping'd bit is tight but still fun (think bowled out Harrow halfpipe).
Hopefully I'll sort some video footage out for tomorrow...

Dan does a sweeper/overview of the park
Trev took the 8 wheeler as well as his BDS Holt
He also took some photos of Dan...
So did I and some of Ricardo too...
Hopefully I'll sort some video footage out for tomorrow...

Jelly Slams
Shot at Dagenham back in the days (2007) when Jelly used to travel further afield than Shoreham skatepark.
I just came across this when exploring my external hard-drive.
This cracks me up every time I watch it.

Old School Pool Fool
This is me on the eight wheeler going over the light in the first UK pool I skated, down in Swanage at the Gaffers old school.
Can't remember when it was but must have been 2006 or 2007. I got the 8 in 2006 and it was before the Surrey Pool session in late 2007. Damn I've still got those boots.
I went with Monkey Legs Pete, Lumberjack and Sat Nav Pete D and some other chap who's name I can't remember.
Had to park on the roadside, walk into a park, through a gap in the hedge, along the side of the cricket pitch and climb through a hole in a fence to get there.
The place was a definite bust but we were lucky and managed to get a good couple of hours in and leave without any trouble.
I got some really shite footage on my phone at the time but can't find it anywhere so here's some of Pigdog's footage from YouTube, it's the square white one that features at the beginning.
Trawler has some good photo's on his blog too

Biggin Aggin
Some video footage of Sunday with Me, Trev and Dan at Biggin Hill. Not that exciting but we'd only just got there and were warming up (missed all the massive airs etc.)
Taken on my Flip Mino HD with an add on magnetic Fisheye adaptor mounted on a Gorillapod copy type tripod wrapped around the fence.
(hmmm , looks like Photobucket has trimmed a couple of minutes off of the end probably due to file size) The Flip software that comes with the camera does this 'Magic Movie' edit thing. Basically you tell it which video to do and it edits it down, as the camera was in the one location it came up with this (imho) rad little video where people fade in and out of view almost like a time-lapse/dreamlike scene.
Music is by Vibrasonic incase anyone was wondering.

Biggin It Up
Got a text from Trev on Saturday about going to Biggin Hill on Sunday morning, decided I needed a skate as I hadn't got on my board since Cookies 50th bash at MSN.
So I dusted off the Pacer Hogs
Rain last night and a bit of dampness on the way there had me a bit worried but we arrived just after 9:00 to a dry and deserted skatepark.
It wasn't long before the skootards arrived though, always amazes me how blinkered they are and have no idea what lines skaters are going to take.
A good skate, here's some pics including a couple of me by Trev that I snaffled from his Photobucket account...
Dan did some nice boned airs to fakie and some backside airs...
Trev pulled some inverts in the shallow and some nice frontside grinds
I did my usual...
Discovered I had a "burst" mode on my camera the other day, played around with it and some gifs...

Got a sticker at work, might need to get some more made up by our sticker department before I decide what to stick it on.

Goodwood FoS 2012
Went to Goodwood today for the Festival of Speed. Big queue of traffic to get through Petworth and a long queue into the site meant we arrived quite late in the morning.
A lot of people there, didn't really get to see much going up the hill due to the crowds, might be worth getting a grandstand ticket in the future.
There were some lovely things on display...

I'm a sucker for that flat track style
Amazing paintwork
Nice Cafe Racer, nice reflection ;-)
Twisted Performance Landrovers, just beautiful.
Got rained on, saw some nice bikes and nice cars, walked miles, saw John Surtees and Stirling Moss.
